Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi follows Aoi Tsubaki, a college student who can see ayakashi (spirits), a gift she inherited from her late grandfather. One day she encounters an ogre named Ōdanna, who reveals that her grandfather left behind a massive debt owed to the Hidden Realm, a world of spirits. As repayment, Ōdanna claims Aoi must become his bride—but instead, she negotiates to work at his traditional inn, Tenjin-ya, by using her cooking skills to pay off the debt. Blending elements of romance, fantasy, and slice-of-life, the series highlights Aoi’s growth, her unique ability to connect with both humans and spirits through food, and the tender relationships that form in the mystical world she now calls home.
