The classic horror-comedy series Jigoku Sensei Nūbē returns with a modern anime reboot premiering on July 2, 2025, produced by Studio Kai and airing on TV Asahi’s new IMAnimation W block. The story follows Meisuke Nueno, a passionate elementary school teacher who wields a demon-possessed left hand to protect his students from supernatural threats, including ghosts, yokai, and eerie school legends. Set in Domori Elementary and revolving around its mysterious seven wonders, the show blends dark folklore with heartfelt classroom moments. This reboot features updated visuals and an all-new student cast for a fresh Reiwa-era retelling. Directed by Yasuyuki Ōishi with music by Evan Call, the series will run for two cours, with the second half airing in January 2026. With its mix of humor, horror, and heroic spirit, this revival reintroduces Nūbē’s thrilling battles against the unseen forces that haunt everyday life.
